Claddagh's Summer Music Schedule
The Claddagh Irish Pub in Middleton is again doing a Summer Music Schedule, and again Borderlands will be a major part of it. We have fond memories of many great nights last summer playing both indoors and outdoors at the Claddagh, and we met many wonderful people there. We hope (nay, expect) to see your familiar faces again this year, with your friends in tow. This will be a great place to get to hear the new sound of Borderlands, with our New Guy (tm) Carl on fiddle and the not as New Guy (tm) Jim on drums. We'll be there June 11th and 25th and August 6th and 27th. (June 11th will also be our sneak peak at the New Guy show.) Come on out and raise your glass!

Meet the new guy
After much soul-searching, beer, and whiskey, we finally found a new lead player. Please welcome fiddler Carl Rozas to Borderlands. Carl will make his first official debut at our June 13th show at the Club Tavern in Middleton. (Incidently, that show will be Brent's last show with us, so come on out and see a historical night of the Borderlands Quintet!) For the last four years, he played with the Madison area singer-songwriter Buzz Meade. Carl's no second fiddle (ahum) and his high harmonies blend well with Kurt's vocals. So come early, come often to hear the ever-evolving sound of Borderlands!

Goodbye, Brent
After two and a half years on mandolin, guitar, accordian, fiddle, and vocals, Brent has decided to take his leave. Perhaps it has something to do with his recent nomination to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, or maybe it has something to do with Real Life catching up with him. Brent has been a big part of this band, joining up with us in the early days and pouring in some wonderful harmonies, solos, and stage energy along the way. Brent's last show will be June 13th at the Club Tavern. Come on out and wish him farewell in his future endevors.

St Patrick's Day
We had a busy weekend celebrating St Patrick's Day. Music, Guinness, music, Tellamore Dew, music! We played at Joseph Megaan's, Lake Mill's classic downtown bar, on Saturday, March 15th, and the Claddagh Irish Pub on St Patrick's day. Both places were going strong all night, and the wild folks in Lake Mills kept us playing an extra hour! It's hard work, but someone's gotta do it. If you missed it this year, write it on your calendars for next year. Borderlands - a St. Patrick's Day tradition!

And on the drums we have...
The more things stay the same, the more they change. We spent some of our quiet time looking for that missing ingredient for the Borderlands sound, and that's what we've found! We've added Jim Turk on drums and percussion to our lineup. Formerly of The Prole, Jim's a multitalented veteran of the Madison music scene. Jim's first shows with us was January 25th and January 15th, and everyone who came out loved what they heard. Come on out on St Patrick's weekend to welcome Jim and hear this latest version of the ever-evolving sound of Borderlands!

MySpace
We've added a MySpace account! Giving in to social pressures, we've decided we needed a 'social networking' presence. So surf on over and pay us a visit, become a friend, leave a comment, and most importantly, hear some new tracks that we're putting together. For even more music, check out Kurt Griesemer's MySpace account, for some non- or pre-Borderlands (all original) music!

mp3's
We've added three demo mp3's to the site. Waste no time, download them now.
